This year will be my third time doing the NY AIDS WALK. I am going to do my best to do it every year going forward, as it is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. My uncle, Patrick Lippert, was the most uplifting person I’ve ever known and he profoundly altered the way I look at life and how I live it. He passed of AIDS in 1993 and I try my best to honor his memory by trying to help others and being kind and compassionate to everyone I encounter. My initial goal was $1,000. To my great surprise, I met it in three days, so I upped it to $2,000. The walk isn’t until May 20th so I’ve decided to go for broke (definitely not the right phrase but whatever) and am trying to raise $5,000. No matter what I have already passed my expectations further than I could have hoped for. To everyone who has donated or is going to: thank you from the bottom of my heart. This simple act helps remind me that the world is still full of kind and caring people.
